This product is a blank MiFare Classic 1K RFID/NFC tag embedded in a phone charm. It functions similarly to proximity cards used for public transport passes and other systems requiring contactless identification. The tag utilizes an NXP S50 chip and an antenna, passively powered by the reader/writer. Due to its compact antenna, it requires closer proximity to the reader compared to larger tags. It is compatible with most 13.56MHz RFID/NFC readers that support MiFare card encoding. The tag offers 1KB of writable EEPROM, divided into banks, with a capacity for over 100,000 re-writes. A permanent, unchangeable 4-byte ID is burned into the chip for unique identification. While the S50 chipset was a 'classic' NFC chipset, it is no longer supported by the NFC Forum since approximately 2014, which may affect compatibility with newer phones when used as an NFC tag.
