Push-Only: Card inserted manually and held by hand. Ejected immediately upon release. Ideal for short transaction cycles (e.g., door access control).
Push-Pull: Card inserted manually and held by a card brake. Pulled out after transaction. Most common manual system.
Push-Push: Card inserted manually and held by the connector. Returns to user when pushed again (like a ballpoint pen).
PUSHMATIC: Semi-automatic system combining manual insertion with automatic ejection. Card pushed until flush; software triggers solenoid for ejection.
Landing Contacts: Moveable contact set connects with chip card pads upon insertion. Prevents scratching, allows high mating cycles.
Wiping Contacts: Fixed contact set wipes over data contacts. Cleans contact points with each mating cycle. May leave non-influential traces on card surface.
