The Tyco Electronics Connector System is designed for Universal Serial Bus (USB) applications, supporting bi-directional, simultaneous signals for full speed (12Mbps) or low speed (1.5Mbps) data transfer. It offers plug-and-play and hot-pluggable capabilities, allowing peripherals to be attached or detached without powering down or rebooting the system. The system features a single 4-position polarized connector for proper orientation and a complete family of board-mount receptacles (including right-angle, thru-hole, Type B, side-by-side, and stacked configurations) and cable-mount overmold plug kits. It consolidates serial, parallel, keyboard, mouse, and game ports, and is compatible with asynchronous and isochronous data transfer methods. This system is ideal for I/O devices such as keyboards, mice, game ports, serial devices, digital audio equipment, printers, scanners, modems, joysticks, and telecommunication devices, designed for user-friendly, out-of-the-box applications.
